On the left-hand side of the entry from Fox Valley Road is a pink granite Foundation Stone that has lost any highlighting that it may have had from the engraved inscription. It reads:
"To the Glory of God
and
In Memory of the Pioneers
of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
in Australasia
This Foundation Stone was set
9th September 1956"
This is a large church, with a substantial 'basement' of additional rooms used for various aged Bible study groups, from Kindergarten age through to Teens. There is also a large balcony at the Fox Valley Road end. Wheelchair access is via ramps on the north or south sides. There is a tall 'Bell Tower', that I remember as working in the 1960's, but then it was turned into an 'electronic' speaker version.
There is a full Pipe Organ, with the pipes on full display. The wooden pews are the original ones of the mid 1950s, but the steam-heated pipes under the seats have been removed (one of my sons had a 'hand' - read, LEG, in that). Car parking is off-street, with a boom gate that closes off during the week.
