This elaborate monument, is described by the War Memorial Register site, [
Wallsend Soldiers Memorial]:
"A sandstone tapered column with a flat summit on which rests an elevated marble alcove, supported by four classical columns. Within this structure rests a block with each face displaying a name plaque with the words, 'In Memory of'. This memorial has been previously relocated." The four white marble tablets at the top of the monument are for those who died in Service, as follows:

The above website also gives the following of where the monument had been originally placed, in Nelson Street:
"Wallsend Soldiers' Memorial was erected on this site in 1919 by
public subscription in commemoration of service & sacrifice to those who fought and fell in the Great War of 1914-1918. The original Memorial was relocated in Wallsend Park in 1971. This Memorial also marks the site from which the original members of the 1st AIF departed for overseas service."
In one of my photos of the south face of the monument - but, behind a wreath, is the following inscription, copied from War Monuments:
"'To Those Who Paid The Supreme Sacrifice
1939-45 - Korea - Vietnam'"
[That is the only mention of other conflicts that I could see.]
