Die römisch-katholische, spätbarocke Saalkirche wurde 1752 erbaut. Sie ist ein schlichter Bau mit östlichem Turmaufsatz. Grabsteine aus dem 18. Jahrhundert befinden sich am Kirchenvorplatz.

Die Ägydiuskirche ist eine spätbarocke, einschiffige Kirche, die aus einem rechteckigen Raum mit abgerundeten Ecken besteht. Auffällig ist der quadratische, in die Fassade einbezogene Turm. Die ursprünglichen Glocken wurden in den beiden Weltkriegen für Rüstungszwecke abtransportiert, heute verfügt der Turm über vier Glocken. Vor der Kirche befinden sich an der nordseitigen Mauer zwei barocke Grabsteine. Aus einem Maskaron in einer Wandnische fließt das Wasser der Pötzleinsdorfer Quelle, der einst heilkräftige Wirkung nachgesagt wurde.
Zentrales Element des Innenraums ist der Hauptaltar mit der Darstellung der Kreuzigung Christi von Johann Nepomuk Steiner. Weiters befindet sich im Vorderteil der Kirche ein großer Tabernakel mit anbetenden Engeln und darüber ein ikonenartiges Marienbild aus dem 17. Jahrhundert. Neben dem Hauptaltar verfügt die Ägydiuskirche auch über zwei Seitenaltäre, von denen einer den Kirchenpatron zeigt (Darstellung von Johann Nepomuk Steiner), ein zweiter den heiligen Antonius von Padua. Weitere wichtige Elemente der Kirche sind eine Darstellung des heiligen Georgs von August Querfurt sowie der kelchartige, aus Marmor geformte Taufkessel. Die Holzdecke des Taufkessels krönt eine Plastik des Heiligen Johannes des Täufers. Diese Metallkopie ersetzte eine gestohlene Elfenbeinplastik. Die abgerundeten Nischen der Kirche schmücken weiters die Statuen des Hl. Wolfgang, des Hl. Leonhard und des Hl. Markus, die vierte Ecke wird von der 1835 errichteten Kanzel aus Eschenholz geziert. Über dem Eingang der Kirche befindet sich eine siebenregistrige Orgel aus dem Jahr 1816, die mehrfach umgebaut wurde. Der Kreuzweg der Kirche stammt hingegen erst aus dem Jahre 1944.

The Aegydius church is a late Baroque, single-nave church consisting of a rectangular room with rounded corners. Striking is the quadratic tower included in the facade. The original bells were removed during the two world wars for armaments purposes, today the tower has four bells. In front of the church are two Baroque tombstones on the north-facing wall. From a mascaron in a wall niche flows the water of the Pötzleinsdorf spring, which was once said to have healing effects.
The central element of the interior is the main altar depicting the crucifixion of Christ by Johann Nepomuk Steiner. Furthermore, in the front part of the church there is a large tabernacle with adoring angels and above it an iconic 17th century Mary statue. In addition to the main altar, the Aegydius church also has two side altars, one of which shows the patron saint (representation of John Nepomuk Steiner), a second St. Anthony of Padua. Other important elements of the church are a representation of St. George of August Querfurt and the cup-shaped baptismal font made of marble. The wooden ceiling of the baptistery has a sculpture of Saint John the Baptist. This metal copy replaced a stolen ivory sculpture. The rounded niches of the church also adorn the statues of St. Wolfgang, St. Leonard and St. Mark, the fourth corner is decorated by the 1835 pulpit made of ash wood. Above the entrance to the church is a seven-tiered organ from 1816, which has been rebuilt several times. The way of the cross of the church dates only from the year 1944.
