A concrete pillar about 1.4 metres high located 15 metres from the equipment hut used for seismic activity monitoring on the Dome Peak of Mt Ruapehu, which is an active Volcano and The North island's highest mountain. It over looks the Crater lake which is heated from volcanic activity.
Located at Approximately 2650 metres above sea level.
According to the LINZ data this was decommissioned in 2007 but is still in place.
Terrain is 4.5 stars in Summer, 5 stars in Winter
