I have been to this bridge a couple of times over recent years, as there is a Geocache hidden on it. While this bridge is directly opposite Main Street (of Jerseyville), it was on the South West Rocks Road, until that was diverted a little to the south east, over a newer, concrete bridge over Spencers Creek.

I guess the maintenance on this wooden bridge was going to get to too much, but it can still be used for the local pedestrians. Concrete pylons are driven into the tidal creek, with a horizontal concrete 'lintel' joining the pairs of pylons, for the large steel I-Beams to rest on for a 'Continuous Span' style of bridge.

Wooden beams are fixed perpendicular to the steel beams, for the wooden deck planks to be bolted to. There is still wooden side rails which are getting rather rotten, but the steel 'w'-shaped armor-guard railing is in quite reasonable condition.
