L'Immigrant grec represents a couple and their child crossing a door and looking "to the future", two suitcases in their hands.

Made of bronze, the work was cast in Piraeus, the port city of Athens, and crossed the Atlantic Ocean by boat to Halifax, then by train, as did tens of thousands of Greeks in the aftermath of the Second World War to flee the civil war, which was followed by an authoritarian authoritarian regime of freedom and turned anticommunism. This is true even though the presence of the Greeks in Montreal has been documented in the archives since 1843.

Despite the agony of the trip, the pain of leaving our home and the fear of the New World, we arrived in a country that welcomed us with open arms and we gave ourselves heart and soul to the prosperity of our adopted metropolis.
