FR La passerelle, côté quai de Rome, part en face de la Tour Paradis enjambe la Meuse et se scinde en deux parties en arrivant au parc de la Boverie. Une partie de l’ouvrage passe, en suspension, au-dessus du parc à hauteur de la canopée des arbres et une autre partie descend entre la tour Schöffer et le bâtiment de l’union nautique, près de la volière. Après en avoir débattu, la ville de Liège décide de baptiser cette passerelle La Belle Liégeoise, surnom d'Anne-Josèphe Théroigne de Méricourt, femme politique liégeoise, personnalité marquante de la Révolution française et féministe. Elle vécut à Marcourt (chez sa mère), Xhoris (chez son père) et Sougné-Remouchamps avant de sillonner l'Europe et d'aboutir à Paris. Plusieurs autres noms avaient été évoqués : passerelle Boverie, Guillemins-Boverie, Paradis-Boverie, passerelle des Libertés ou encore passerelle Nelson Mandela. EN The footbridge La Belle Liege is a pedestrian walkway, opened in May 2016, which crosses the Meuse in the center of Liège to connect the Guillemins district to the Parc de La Boverie. The footbridge, on the quay side of Rome, leaves in front of the Paradise tower straddling the Meuse and splits into two parts arriving at the Parc de la Boverie. One part of the suspension bridge passes above the park at the height of the tree canopy and another part descends between the Schöffer tower and the Nautical Union building, near the aviary. After debating, the city of Liège decides to baptize this footbridge the beautiful Liege, nickname of Anne-Josephus Theroigne de Méricourt, a political woman Liege, prominent personality of the French and feminist revolution. She lived in Marcourt (at her mother's house), Xhoris (at her father's house) and Sougné-Remouchamps before travelling across Europe and ending up in Paris. Several other names were mentioned: Footbridge Boverie, Guillemins-Boverie, Paradis-Boverie, Gateway of liberties or even Gateway Nelson Mandela.
