[EN] "The ruins of the High Gothic church, which stands in the vineyards above the town, are delicate and filigree. Construction began shortly after 1287. The reason for this was the murder of a boy Werner. Death was charged without any evidence from the Jewish community of Oberwesel. Forty people died in the riots. Because of this pogrom a chapel dedicated to Werner was built. At the same time, pilgrimages to Werner's grave began. The chapel is a symbol of Rhine Romanticism.
Opening hours: Visits possible daily"
