A headstone located in Pleasant Hill Cemetery notes William Northern as being the first burial in 1853. Elijah Bristow who is buried very close to this headstone was the first to settle and build a cabin in Lane County in 1846. He deeded the land which became Pleasant Hill Cemetery to the community in 1853. I wasn't able to obtain any other information for William Northern.
