As you drive along Putty Road, this building almost looks like a residence by its design, except that it has three roller doors and a large/broad concrete and gravel apron. The centre of the building has a hip roof, with two slightly larger grey roller doors beneath, with the third one, just a touch smaller, to the left (east). The office is on the right side (western end) of the building.
This unit is commonly called, the 'Bulga Bush Fire Brigade', as one of the signs near the Memorial Garden shows. If I remember correctly, there was a training facility, between here and Broke, on the north side of Milbrodale Road, large enough to be used by the whole Hunter Valley.
The new building, and Memorial Garden was Opened by Commissioner Phil Koperberg A.O., AFSM, B.E.M., on Saturday, 15 October, 2005. [From a plaque on the building]
The Memorial Garden is under the shade of a mature tree, to the west of the driveway. Sadly, they have had three of their crew die in incidents, as noted by memorial plaques in the garden. [Two - Rachel Harrison, and Karl Miskle, on 22 November, 2003; with the third, John Gilder on 2 August, 1997]
