This Starbucks lies in the heart of downtown Tacoma in an old restored warehouse that is now part of the University of Washington Tacoma Campus.
The store is stuffed with velvet armchairs for lounging and studying and the walls are hung with paintings from local artists.
There is a door that opens into the adjoining University of Washington Bookstore so during bookstore hours you can grab a coffee and go browse the books.
Be sure to take in the Bridge of Glass and Museum of Glass across the street and the wonderful UW campus created out of existing early 20th century buildings and new structures built to blend seamlessly with the old. Or hop on the free lightrail at the station in front of the store and get off in the Theater District to browse the plethora of Art Galleries.
