History
Around 1974, the then police commissioner searched for an accommodation in Tongeren to set up a shooting range for his staff. A number of shooters, then still affiliated with various other clubs, wanted to support the initiative and set up their own club.

On October 24, 1974, the shooting club TONGRIA was born. The search for a suitable location could be stopped when one could use an unfinished tile kiln on the then Francart site.

The city of Tongeren, together with the members of the club have converted the oven into a shooting range.

The club joined the KVBSV after and was numbered 03-274.

In 1986 the association was renamed Schootersvereniging Tongria Vzw, following the vzw legislation. On 13/11/1986 the association also proceeds to the purchase of the land and buildings.

After a difficult period in the beginning, the determination of the board members always led the club forward with the final result of 5 jobs at 25 meters, three lanes at 50 meters and 14 lanes for air-pressure weapons.

Also in terms of membership, the club has grown from a 20 members in 1974 to a 460 members today
