1965 wurde die Pieta von ihrem ursprünglichen Standort - westlich der Protteser Str. nach der 2. Schwemme - in den Kirchenpark versetzt. Bei der Renovierung wurde an der Rückseite der Statue die Jahreszahl 1699 und an der Vorderseite der Name Georg Hans(y) entdeckt. Obwohl es 1697 Pestfälle gab, ist unklar warum die Säule als Pestsäule benannt wurde, da kein Pestheiliger die Statue ziert, sondern eine Pieta.

In 1965 the Pieta was moved from its original location - west of the Protteser Straße after the 2. Schwemme - to the church park.
