CGS&SS 30, NJ, is a US Coast and Geodetic Survey and State Survey survey disk located in the southeast angle of the intersection of State Highway 47 and Mauricetown Road, about 2.5 miles northeast of the village of Leesburg, NJ. The disk is flush with the surface and mounted in the top of a round, concrete monument. It is stamped STATION NO. 30 ELEVATION ____ FEET. It is about 42 feet south of the centerline of Mauricetown Road, about 29 feet west of the centerline of State Highway 47, and about four feet north of a metal pole that supports a traffic light. Handheld coordinates are N39-17.402 W074-58.099. The disk is in neither the Geocaching nor National Geodetic Survey (NGS) databases. However, I suspect that this may be the station that is intended to be documented at PID = JU2292 (5028 NJGS), but the datasheet is in error. See the datasheet for 5028 NJGS at PID = JU2292 (
visit link) .
To reach from the intersection of State Highway 47 and State Highway 55 (the more southerly of two such intersections) southeast of Millville, NJ, go southeast on State Highway 47 (Delsea Drive) for 3.1 miles to the intersection with Mauricetown Road and the station on the left.
Recovery of this station was first logged at the Geocaching datasheet for station 5028 NJGS, PID = JU2292.
