Trinity Church, the first Anglican Church in Wangaratta, was built on the site of the present cathedral in 1856. The Cathedral was begun in 1908 with the construction of the western half of the nave,The Lady Chapel, chancel, sanctuary, sacristy and vestries being added to the existing section of nave in 1922-24 and the third in 1961-5.with the completion of the nave and addition of the baptistery,
