Why did the turtle cross the road? Only the turtle can answer that question. This red-eared slider (one of the most commonly encountered turtles in this part of the country) was westbound across County Line Road, a bit north of NW 220th Street, in search of whatever turtles search for on the other side. I helped him across and he gave me a good hiss or two for my trouble, but was then too timid to come out for another photo.
