At the front wheels of the chained-off, yellow Tiger Moth (with '43' on the cowling) is a A4 sized sign, with the following poem:

'Ode to the Tiger Moth'
The throb of the Gypsy has ended
As the twang of the flying wires cease.
This tiger unharmed here forever
Played its part in the winning of peace.

Built by de Havilland in Australia, it was allocated the number DHA641, or DH.82A. On 30 October 1941 it was delivered to the RAAF (Royal Australian Air Force); where it was given the number A17-443, and then forwarded to the '12 EFTS' (Elementary Flying Training School). Later (30 March 1942) it was sent to 10 EFTS at Temora, and later to 5 Aircraft Depot, on 16 November 1943. [Info ex- Pacific Wrecks: Tiger Moth A17-443]

Post-WW2 it became RAAF 'R4836', and then VH-AVR, and VH-BAM, later crashing in 1962, when the wreck was stored at Griffith (NSW), until acquired by the 8 EFTS Association in 1982 to be restored as seen today.
