Within the Ortona Cemetery is a Veterans Memorial that honors those who served and those who perished as well as those currently serving. If was made possible by the Farris H. Davis American Legion Post #299 located in Moore Haven, Florida. In front of the black granite memorial is an area for engraved pavers and bricks.

THIS MONUMENT FROM THE PEOPLE OF GLADES COUNTY FLORIDA IS DEDICATED TO THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO SERVED HONORABLY IN ALL PARTS OF THE WORLD TO DEFEND OUR NATION'S FREEDOM AND PRESERVE THE DIGNITY OF THE HUMAN SPIRIT. IT IS BEYOND OUR CAPABILITY TO ADEQUATELY RECOGNIZE THE SACRIFICES OF THOSE WHO SERVED ...BUT WITH GOD'S HELP WE WILL NEVER FORGET WHAT THEY DID FOR US AND THE UNBORN GENERATIONS TO FOLLOW.
