"American Car & Foundry built, all steel, end cupola, former 1500, 1600 and 1700 series ATSF cabooses. The Frisco cars in these series were constructed in 1927, 1928 and 1929. These cars were acquired in 9/1969 (SLSF 1100-1105) and 1971 (nonconsecutive SLSF numbered cars noted below). These cars were intended as replacements for groups 1, 2, 3 and 4 cars in local service.

Cars known to have been renumbered include SLSF 1100 (2nd), 1101, 1102 (2nd), 1103 (2nd), 1104 (2nd), 1105 (2nd), 1128 (2nd), 1130 (2nd), 1133 (2nd), 1136, 1139 (2nd), 1141, 1142 (2nd), 1145 (2nd), 1147, 1152, 1153, 1159 (2nd), 1163 (2nd), 1164, 1166, 1170 (2nd), 1177 (2nd), 1180 (2nd), 1181 (2nd), 1182, 1191 (2nd), 1195 (2nd)."
