We found a postcard (top left) of Berlin's Supreme Parish and Collegiate Church, in short the Berlin Cathedral and accepted the challenge to recreate it.
We found it rather challenging, because when taking a picture from the precise location, a fountain, that did not yet exist in 1900, would block part of the view.
We therefor opted for two pictures, one from the right location, with the fountain in the picture (bottom left) and one from a slightly different angel, but with an unobstructed view. (bottom right.) As an extra bonus, we also tried to recreate the original colors (top right).
You may notice that the domes of the steeples look slightly different today. They were replaced after the bombings of World War II. Also not in the original 1900 picture was the Berlin TV Tower, built in 1969.
