This is on the vital link road between the coast of NSW, the New England tablelands, and the Western Plains. The Gwydir Highway starts at South Grafton, and goes through Glen Innes, Warialda, Moree, and almost to Moree. But along that long drive you may want to stop and stretch your legs, so this may be (or not) a suitable place.
A definition for Purgatory is "... a place or state of suffering inhabited by the souls of sinners who are expiating their sins before going to heaven."
The only information about the road, that I found online, is for the numbers of properties on it, For Sale.
