Translated from the above noted text:

In 1953, Richard Normandin enrolled at the Montreal School of Fine Arts and graduated with a degree in Graphic Design (1958). In 1961, he became a freelancer in the field of visual arts and, at the same time, devoted himself to sculpture and enrolled in the provincial contest of 1965. One of his works was exhibited at the Musée du Québec. During the eighties, he pursued his approach, took part in numerous competitions and exhibitions and taught occasionally at the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières and at Laflèche College. Throughout his production, in addition to making bas-reliefs, he uses aluminum, copper and plastic, sometimes recovered, to create tubular assemblies of strange humanoid forms at various scales. Among his interventions in public art, one of his works, made at the Sonic 15 Symposium of Trois-Rivières in 1992, is located near the city's port.
