Ce parc (ou boisé) de forme irrégulière ayant une superficie de 6 hectares est situé entre la rue Dickson (nord), le boulevard de l'Assomption (sud), l'Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosement (ouest) et Place de Jumonville (est) dans l'arrondissement de Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve à Montréal.

Son nom vient du fait qu'il a appartenu aux Pères franciscains, dont le monastère est situé pas trop loin sur boulevard Rosemont Est.

La Ville de Montréal a acheté ce boisé aux Pères franciscains en 1986, puis a modifié le zonage en 2001 pour lui donner la vocation de parc. Sur l’île de Montréal, c’est l’un des rares petits boisés qui hébergent encore des espèces végétales d’origine.

Un organisme de la ville invite la population à partir à la découverte du parc dans un contexte attrayant et sécuritaire. Petits et grands suivront un parcours à travers bois constitué de panneaux et de dispositifs ludiques qui leur feront découvrir les espèces qui les entourent.

Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve est un arrondissement de la ville de Montréal. Il est d'une superficie de 24,5 km2 et a une population de 136 024 habitants (en 2016).

This irregularly shaped park (or woodland) with an area of 6 hectares is located between Dickson Street (north), de l'Assomption Boulevard (south), Maisonneuve-Rosement Hospital (west) and Place de Jumonville (east). ) in the borough of Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve in Montreal.

Its name comes from the fact that it belonged to the Franciscan Fathers, whose monastery is located not too far away on Boulevard Rosemont Est.

The City of Montreal purchased this wooded area from the Franciscan Fathers in 1986, then modified the zoning in 2001 to give it the vocation of a park. On the island of Montreal, it is one of the rare small woodlands that still host original plant species.

A city organization invites the population to explore the park in an attractive and safe environment. Young and old will follow a route through the woods made up of panels and fun devices that will help them discover the species around them.
