"El apellido Puche ha sido desde antiguo uno de los más acrisolados de Almería. Ninguno de ellos dispuso de título nobiliario aunque sí figuran en el Padrón de Nobles e Hijodalgos confeccionado en 1731. En su piedra armera tallada sobre la clave de la puerta principal -descifrada por José Luis Rull cuando estaba semioculta por capas de suciedad y hoy felizmente recuperada- campea "un escudo timbrado por casco del cual sale un brazo armado de una espada, con algunos adornos, y en el campo sencillo: un aspa y sobre ella un caldero con cabeza de león en su borde; en los cuatro espacios dejados por el aspa se insinúan sendas conchas y veneras de peregrino".

On the carved heraldic stone above the keystone of the main door—deciphered by José Luis Rull when it was half-hidden by layers of dirt and now happily recovered—features "a shield topped by a helmet from which emerges an arm armed with a sword, with some ornamentation, and in the simple field: a saltire and above it a cauldron with a lion's head on its rim; in the four spaces left by the saltire, shells and pilgrim's scallops are hinted at."
