Simple and unassuming, yet with an impressive presence, the 1-metre-thick walls convey an atmosphere of contemplation and reflection. However, the history of the parish church of St. Willibrord, which has been repeatedly affected by structural damage and renovations, has made it a problem child for monument preservation for many years.
