EN: Alt-Wartburg is a ruined castle on the Wartberg hill between Aarburg and Olten. It is located on the southern tip of the hill, less than 200 meters from another former castle, which today is a popular excursion restaurant known as Sälischlössli.

The castle was founded around 1170 and destroyed in 1415. In 1966 it was dug up again, restored and made accessible to the public.

The well is located in the walled courtyard south of the former residential tower. It is a filter cistern and probably dates back to the construction phase of around 1325. Only two to three rows of stones remain from the above-ground part of the well. The shaft is filled up to one to two meters, the hole is protected by a grid.

DE: Alt-Wartburg ist eine Burgruine auf dem Wartberg zwischen Aarburg und Olten. Sie liegt auf der südlichen Hügelkuppe, weniger als 200 Meter von einer benachbarten ehemaligen Burg, die heute unter dem Namen Sälischlössli ein beliebtes Ausflugsrestaurant ist.

Die Burg wurde um 1170 gegründet und 1415 zerstört. 1966 wurde sie wieder ausgegraben, restauriert und der Bevölkerung zugänglich gemacht.

Der Brunnen befindet sich in dem ummauerten Hof südlich des ehemaligen Wohnturms. Es handelt sich um eine Filterzisterne und stammt vermutlauch aus der Ausbauphase um 1325. Von dem überirdischen Teil des Brunnens sind nur noch zwei bis drei Reihen Steine erhalten. Der Schacht ist bis auf ein bis zwei Meter zugeschüttet, das Loch ist mit einem Gitter geschützt.
