Actually, one uses the parking place on the Achada do Teixeira to walk from here to the 1862 metres high Pico Ruivo.
But a small side trip of approximately 200 metres to the north is also worthwhile. A small beaten path leads to a slope at which this basalt stone formation attracts the eye as an absolute eye-catcher.
On the narrow "neck" there is the basalt "head" that reminds with some imagination of an Indian or at least of a face profile.
Between "neck" and "head" there is a clearly recognizable crack.
