During the Cold War, the northern states were dotted with radar installation stations, Blaine, Washington was no exception. Just a few miles south of the Canadian border the Blaine Air Force Station operated until 1979.

This site was the location of a Cold War Early Warning Radar Station built as part of a system designed to defend the United States from enemy air attacks. This marker erected by and dedicated to the men and women of the 757th Radar Squadron who served here.
