From their website :-
"The English Presbyterian Church in Ruthin began on August 9th 1885 when the Reverend Thomas Charles Edwards conducted two English language services in the Town Hall. About 250 people attended the evening service. Services continued in the Town Hall, but by 1889 members were determined to erect a new building. A site was secured on Wynnstay Road and various fund raising efforts began. The church was officially opened and dedicated on the afternoon of Thursday May 18th 1893.
The published description of the building is interesting. 'The new building is distinctly an ornament to Ruthin, being carried out in pure Gothic style, and it stands in a charming situation, quite close to the centre of town and the station, at the same time affording from its grounds a magnificent prospect of the Vale and its confining mountains. The structure is of Eyarth limestone, a hard pink variety that is very effective when used in this case. The main portion of the outside walls is undressed, each stone being tooled only on the edge, while the quoins of the corners and buttresses are dressed and the architectural result is excellent'. "
