This 'battle' was the last armed conflict between the Sioux Indians and the United States Army. Quoting from the Virtual Geocache Wounded Knee Creek by bridger, "In 1890 and 1973, violent deaths occurred in this area. If the circular museum building is open, you can see and hear a presentation that you are unlikely to find in the mainstream media. Learning how different observers view an event may help us resolve the continuing conflict. At the very least, it may help us understand why a solution has been so elusive."
