Larger-than-life stone sculpture with the title "Great Awakening" by Rüdiger Wilfroth. The sculpture was created in 1995 and on 25 September 2018, thanks to the initiative of the Gotha Cultural Foundation, the Friends of the Municipal Library, the Ministry of Finance with Lotto funds, a Gotha civil engineering company, an engineering office, a blacksmith and a stonemason, it was handed over to the Municipal Library and set up in the Karolinenhof behind the library.
The sculpture shows a naked woman who has just woken up and stretches her arms over her head.
Rüdiger Wilfroth (Gotha 1942 - Gotha 2015) was a German sculptor from Gotha.
