Built in 1958, this is the original of three fire halls of the Quesnel Volunteer Fire Department. Covered in wood shiplap siding, the station is beginning to show its age. Substantially larger than stations 2 and three, Station Number 1 also has administration offices attached. The department has 4 full time and about 40 volunteer firefighters, the majority of them deployed to this station.

The department's ladder truck is stored in Fire Hall No. 3.
Quesnel Volunteer Fire Department
The Quesnel Volunteer Fire Department provides services from three stations to a service area that includes the City of Quesnel and Red Bluff. We also assist with fire suppression in the larger Quesnel and District area, as required, under mutual aid agreements that are in place with the West Fraser, Bouchie Lake, Barlow Creek, Kersley and Ten Mile Fire Departments. Firefighters are dispatched by a regional 9-1-1 system in Prince George.
The department consists of four full-time and approximately 40 volunteer members. The full-time staff are here to support, train and equip an effective volunteer fire service and to provide inspection and education services to our customers - our citizens.
Fire Hall No 1 is the main fire hall and administration offices.
Fire Hall No 2 is located in Redbluff and has two fire emergency vehicles.
Fire Hall No 3 is located in West Village and has three fire emergency vehicles.
The Fire Department uses five types of emergency vehicles:
