Incorrect punctuation is often the bane of Grammar Police. Especially egregious is the incorrect use of "possessive s" where just adding the letter "s" would be the proper plural form. This restaurant takes it to a new level with a "quotation s."

I've driven by this diner for nearly 20 years and have no idea why this mistake exists. I have never seen another example of this oddity. The restaurant belonging to Babe has a sign which reads:

BABE"S PLACE RESTAURANT

Yes, that is a quotation mark in the place an apostrophe should be to make it a possessive noun. A double apostrophe for emphasis, perhaps? Maybe there was a two-for-one sale on punctuation marks at the sign maker's shop that day? The error is inexplicable, especially considering the street signage is punctuated correctly:

BABE'S DINER

Type of sign or poster: Business

Name the misspelled word: BABE"S

Visit Instructions:

You decide what you want to show in a photo of the sign.

A "Visited" only remark will be deleted.
