The Dartmouth College Road was built in 1771 from Wolfborough to Dartmouth College so Governor John Wentworth could attend Dartmouth's first commencement ceremony. The plaque in Center Harbor, New Hampshire is located at Thompson Corner (at the intersection of College and Dane Rds). Thompson Corner marks the property of the Thompson family - early settlers of Center Harbor.
