Thuringian coat of arms in the inner courtyard of Friedenstein Castle in Gotha.
The castle courtyard is surrounded by arcades. The arcade arches were each decorated with a sandstone coat of arms. These 54 coats of arms are fastened above the keystones of the arcades and indicate the complete title of the ducal house.
One of these coats of arms above the northern arcade shows the oldest coloured representation of the Thuringian original coat of arms from the 13th century.
