The park was well presented when I was there 3 years ago, with a good modular Playground with various elements for different ages. There is a covered FREE BBQ, with an aluminium picnic table nearby. There is also a Trig Point next to the lake. It is all well maintained. At the northwestern treeline are a couple of 'Tanks Traps' - triangular concrete pyramids - that were placed at many places around Newcastle, and other places deemed potential landing places for an invasion in World War Two.
