"Besides the Mandeville
Building, the earliest group of commercial buildings that make up the Carrollton Downtown Historic
District date to the 1880s. All but one of these is located on the square. ... Two buildings on the north side of the square, at 100 and 102 Adamson
Square, appear to date to before 1885. The store at 102 Adamson Square carried dry goods and footwear in its early years and
housed grocery stores, a millinery, a restaurant, and Georgia Power offices in the first half of the 20th
century. Since 1950, it has been W. W. Mac's 5 &10, Fisher's Hardware, and two different
drugstores. It is currently occupied by Carter's Men's Shop." ~ NRHP Nomination Form
