The western portal of the canal tunnel on the River Marne near Chalifert.
The tunnel is situated at the western end of the 13 kilometre cut called Canal de Chalifert et Meaux. The cut links those two towns and cuts off large loops in the River Marne.
The tunnel is positioned between two locks and is lit throughout.
It has one way operation controlled by traffic lights operated by the lock keepers.
