EN: The Roman Catholic Church of Gipf-Oberfrick is a building by the architect Hanns A. Brütsch from the years 1968/69.
It is an irregularly shaped concrete and masonry building with a flat roof.
The architectural complex also includes the neighboring rectory and the cemetery on the south and east sides.
The church was built in 1968/69 as a substitute for an old chapel, also consecrated to St. Wendelin, which had served as a church since the separation from the mother parish Frick in 1953. The chapel had to give way to a new street layout and the town hall and was demolished. The glass windows and a bell from 1710 were taken to the new church. The altar was brought into the former ossuary of Frick.
DE: Die römisch-katholische Kirche von Gipf-Oberfrick ist ein Bau des Architekten Hanns A. Brütsch aus den Jahren 1968/69.
Es ist ein unregelmässig geformtes Gebäude aus Beton und Mauerwerk mit einem Flachdach.
Zu der architektonischen Gesamtanlage gehören auch das benachbarte Pfarrhaus und der Friedhof an der Süd- und Ostseite.
Die Kirche wurde 1968/69 erbaut als Ersatz für eine alte, ebenfalls St. Wendelin geweihte, Kapelle, die seit der Loslösung von der Mutterpfarrei Frick im Jahr 1953 als Kirche gedient hatte. Die Kapelle musste einer neuen Strassenführung und der Gemeindekanzlei weichen und wurde abgerissen. Die Glasfenster und eine Glocke aus dem Jahr 1710 wurden in die neue Kirche übernommen. Der Altar in des ehemalige Beinhaus von Frick gebracht.
