This petrified wood, just in fromt of the Ottomuseum, was found at Großalmerode and is approx. 24-15 millions years old and from from the miocene age.
Not much additional information was found of the exact location of the find, besides the name of the village.

At this same site there is some Tertiary quartzite of 35-33 million years.
