The Griffith Observatory has been a landmark in Los Angeles since it's opening in 1935. It recently underwent a five year restoration and expansion project that preserved the building's unique architecture along with many of the exhibits that have become favorites of Angelenos over seven decades. The roof of the observatory is opened to the public the hours that the observatory is opened, but there are great views from other parts of the observatory that are accessible when the observatory is closed.
Weekdays (Tuesday-Friday)
Open Noon - 10:00 p.m.
Weekends (Saturday-Sunday)
Open 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
There is no admission charge, but due to the increase in visitors following the renovation, reservations are required. More information is available at the official observatory website.
