Pedunculate oak (Quercus robur), standing on the Verwolde estate in Laren (municipality of Lochem, Gelderland) is the thickest pedunculate oak in the Netherlands. It is estimated that the tree is up to 500 years old. The trunk size of the summer oak is more than 770 centimeters at a trunk height of 130 centimeters. The total height of the tree is 25 meters. The Verwolde house was probably founded in the 12th century as a hunting lodge because of the wooded and also wild-rich environment where there was much hunting.
