The Museum of Osteology (located next to Skulls, Unlimited) is located on the far southeast side of OKC, at the northwest corner of Sunnylane and SE 104th St. The museum has an amazing collection of skeletal forms (both human and animal), and a really fantastic system of classifying and labeling them for visitors. When you walk into the museum the first thing you will notice is the gigantic skeletons suspended from the ceiling (Humpback Whale, Killer Whale, Manatee to name a few) plus some very large animal skeletons on the ground floor (African Elephant skull and a giraffe).

Three scavenger hunts are offered to visitors: one each for children, teens, and adults. A small educational area is on the second floor, next to a monitor that shows videos of the process used to clean the carcasses and prepare the skull. One of the funniest videos shown is Mike Rowe's Dirty Jobs episode that was filmed right here at Skulls, Unlimited.

Weekday hours: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Saturday: 11-5
Sunday: 1-5

Cost is $6 for everyone over age 3. Family memberships (four people) are $80 and come with some nice perks including a 10% discount at the gift shop.

This is a phenomenal place to bring kids and show them the skeletal forms of animals of all sizes from all over the world. Although most of the skeletal forms are of animals, there are some human ones including a 4'6" woman, women's feet that had been bound, a veteran's skull showing a bullet hole piercing from front to back, and even examples of a culture's painfully elongated skulls.
