From Info.nu.nl:
The Gitgit is the highest waterfall in Bali. This 40 meter high waterfall is particularly impressive in the rainy season. The waterfall is not extremely high, but it is a very beautiful spectacle in the middle of green nature. The experience of actually standing there does so much more than seeing a photo from a brochure.
Location
The Gitgit is located in the north of Bali, about 10 kilometers from Singaraja, on the road from Ubud to Lovina. From Ubud you make a very winding drive through the mountains, sometimes even a bit scary, but definitely worth it.
At the waterfall
The water really seems to come from nowhere from a mountain-covered green wall. It comes crashing down at a furious pace. The water is very cold, but very desirable after the long walk. You can bathe in the lake under the waterfall. On the other side of the lake are dark rocks on which you can sit, but watch out because it can be very slippery.
