La crise a eu beau se dérouler à des milliers de kilomètres d'ici, le souvenir d'Aylan Kurdi est maintenant immortalisé jusqu'à Sherbrooke. Un monument commémoratif à la mémoire du bambin a été installé au Cimetière Saint-Michel de Sherbrooke.
Aylan Kurdi is a Syrian boy of Kurdish origin. He is a refugee from the Syrian civil war. He died of drowning in 2015 at the age of three. The photograph of his body lying on a beach in Turkey causes a world shock wave.
The crisis may have taken place thousands of kilometers from here, the memory of Aylan Kurdi is now immortalized in Sherbrooke. A commemorative monument in memory of the toddler was installed at the Saint-Michel Cemetery in Sherbrooke.
