Beaver Valley Thrift Store is operated by the Beaver Valley United Church and is opened for quite some time. Have visited many times over the years.
On my last visit on March 5, 2020, the store was busy. The store though small is always neat and tidy and well organized. The staff, mostly volunteers, are always friendly and a willingness to be helpful.
Mostly there is household items, clothing and a few nice collectibles. They have a nice selection of puzzles and games.
Opening Hours (pre COVID-19)
Tuesday - 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Thursday - 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Saturday - 10:00 am to 1:00 pm
"Fruitvale was originally a stop on the Great Northern Railway called Beaver Siding. In 1906 a land corporation, Fruitvale Ltd, purchased land on both sides of the stop and changed the name, to Fruitvale. The name was probably chosen as a promotional incentive. In spite of its name, however, agriculture is not the town's main economic activity."
