Live Oak Point Park sits at the northern base of the Barron Collier Bridge connecting US Highway 41 with Punta Gorda to the south of the Peace River and Port Charlotte to the north of the river. The park is also the location of the old Hickory Bluff Mound which was a large shell mound from the early Timucua Indians of the Safety Harbor period of AD 900-1725.
Live Oak Point Park has a fishing pier located on the south end of the park. The fishing pier has a railing for safety purposes, and is constructed on concrete pilings with steel beams, wooden railings and recycled plastic planking. It is easily accessible by mobility assist devices. Seating is nearby in the brick paved area of the park. Shaded picnic areas are in the grassy area of the park. Restrooms are available but a considerable walking distance. There are 59 paved parking spaces. This park is ADA compliant. Hours are 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily. There is no cost to use this park or the fishing pier.
