The photograph shows East High Street in the Angus town of Forfar from 1910, looking westwards. The town's tall steeple from the Old Parish Church is prominent on the left, with St.John's Episcopal Church seen on the right. The street then was cobbled with granite setts with very little traffic around.

The photograph taken 110 years later shows a tarmac street and although shops have been changed, the buildings remain the same. The parish church is now the East & Old and St.John's remains as it was.

Year photo was taken: 1910
