There are multiple zinc headstones to be found in the cemetery, and with one exception, all have been painted white. There's probably a good story behind this, and in a few cases, some of the original finish is visible and the brush strokes are often crude, as our painter wasn't very good with their implement. Notably, the tell-tale ring that one gets from a knock upon the monument has been turned into a dull thud.
Mrs. Manuel's husband, Benjamin Franklin Manuel, is buried in California, some miles away, and Findagrave does not suggest her relationship to a married couple, James and Mary Manuel, who are buried on either side of her. A wild guess is that James Manuel was her brother-in-law.
This small headstone has text on the front only, and the family name, "Manuel", is in relief on the plinth. The inscription is:
