Descriptif

Dans un cimetière emmuré et planté d’un vieux tilleul remarquable (effondré par le vent en 2007), édifice néo-roman en brique avec quelques éléments en pierre de Grandglise, édifié en 1871-1873 d’après les plans de l’abbé Vital Duray repris par l’architecte athois Fourdin. Millésime de 1872 à l’intérieur, sur une pierre au-dessous du jubé. Tour occidentale hors-œuvre percée d’ouïes doubles et coiffée d’une flèche octogonale. Nef à pseudo-triforium et collaté-raux de trois travées, séparés par des colonnes et couverts d’une même bâtière. Gouttereaux alignant deux fenêtres par travée. Chœur plus étroit à chevet plat éclairé par des triplets, celui du côté Est. dominé par un oculus ovale. Sous appentis à faible pente, sacristie du côté Sud de la même époque et annexe au Nord du XVIIIe s., en brique, conservant un soubassement en moellons de pierre de Tournai et deux baies trapues en arc de brique surbaissé, grillées (vantail de porte ancien conservé vers le chœur).

Descriptif

In a cemetery walled and planted with a remarkable old lime tree (collapsed by the wind in 2007), a neo-Romanesque brick building with some Grandglise stone elements, built in 1871-1873 according to plans by Father Vital Duray taken over by the Athenian architect Fourdin. Vintage from 1872 inside, on a stone below the rood screen. Western tower hors-d'oeuvre pierced with double gills and topped with an octagonal arrow. Nave with pseudo-triforium and collaterals of three spans, separated by columns and covered with the same ship. Gouttereaux aligning two windows per span. Narrower choir with flat chevet lit by triplets, the one on the east side. dominated by an oval oculus. Under a lean-to slope, sacristy on the south side of the same period and annex to the north of the 18th century, in brick, retaining a base in Tournai stone rubble stone and two stocky bays in low-slung brick arch, grilled (door leaf old preserved towards the choir).
